First launched in July 2012, one of Children's Trust Fund recent projects is the Fight the Floods movement. This project is aimed at helping families who are victims of the recent floods that have destroyed millions of homes and killed thousands of people. In addition to having an overwhelming population of undernourished children, Bangladesh, as well as most other South Asian countries, is prone to natural disasters such as flooding. Every year, 18% of Bangladesh is flooded, killing over 5,000 people and destroying 7 million homes. Presently, Children’s Trust Fund is working in the village of Serajgong, Bangladesh to provide families who are victims of the floods with rickshaws and/or farm animals and crops. These rickshaws and crops will allow these families to send their children to school and provide for themselves as well as their children. In addition, these families will be able to provide their children with medical treatment, nourishment, and clean water. Please click the link below to find out more.

The other recently launched Children's Trust Fund project is the Education First campaign, first started in April 2013. Of the around 51 million children around the globe who do not have access to education, more than half of them are girls. According to the United Nations Foundation, girls who receive an education are less likely to marry early, have children early, and become victims of child abuse, labor, trafficking, and exploitation. Children's Trust Fund believes that education is the first step towards ensuring that a child can live a healthy and prosperous life. The Education First campaign is geared towards providing girls and boys in developing countries with access to adequate educational services and supplies. The goal of the initiative is to make education accessible to every child. living in developing areas of Bangladesh, India, and other parts of South Asia.
